Exploring the Tibetan Markets

Do not worry, even if you are not great at bargaining. Unlike most such Indian shopping places, these markets provide the option of buying items at fixed rates. Go into the market and explore the various shops selling colourful hand-knitted winter garments. You would be left spoilt for choice with the reasonably priced yet high-quality winter jackets, hand-knitted sweaters, mufflers, and scarves. The lively ambiance, the warm welcome from the shopkeepers, the quality of clothes, and the superb value for money are all sure to provide you with an immensely pleasurable experience. Saturday and Sundays are their main working days. On Sunday, the streets are full of local Garhwali traders selling their local jewelry, antiques, carpets, and paintings. The items are cheap and are at an affordable rate for the customers. You can even bargain with the price of the items.

You can also get souvenirs of the trip for your family, friends, and relatives from this market. You can buy various Tibetan handicraft items and jewellery at bargain prices.

Even if all this shopping leaves you hungry, worry not. Gorge on a sumptuous plate of authentic momos, piping hot noodles, or a comforting bowl of thukpa from one of the food stalls in the market.
