How to Check EPF Balance Online?

The Employees’ Provident Fund is one of the best ways to save for retirement (EPF). If you invest a small portion of your earnings into your EPF account, you won’t need to bother about a retirement plan. This way, you won’t have to worry about saving money. Your company would likewise contribute the same amount to your EPFO account each month. This is a simple way to save a percentage of your money without expending any effort. You can, however, use the EPF passbook feature to access your EPF account balance on the internet.

Various Ways to Check your EPF Balance

SMS, missed calls, the Umang App, and simply going onto the official EPFO webpage to access your passbook are all options for checking your EPF balance. If you have access to your EPF funds, you can easily budget for future expenses.

EPFO Portal

Make sure your employer has activated your Universal Account Number before checking your EPF amount (UAN Number). Employees who engage in the EPF scheme are given a unique identity called a Universal Account Number, or UAN. Employees should only have one UAN for the duration of their employment, regardless of how many companies they work for. The UAN is required because the full EPF service procedure is now completed online. You may easily access your PF account services, such as withdrawals, EPF balance checks, and EPF loan applications, using your UAN. Additionally, via the EPFO portal, you can check your EPF account balance as follows:

  • After you’ve activated your UAN, go to the EPFO’s official website to learn more. Under the “Our Services” tab, select “for workers” from the drop-down menu.
  • From the “Services” option, choose “Member passbook.”
  • You will be taken to a login page. To check your EPF balance online, go to www.epfbalance.com. Once you’ve activated your UAN, enter your UAN and password here.
  • After logging in, go to the Employee Pension Fund to view your account balance and access your EPF account.

Through SMS

You must link your KYC documents to check your PF balance by SMS.

Follow these procedures once your UAN has been linked to your KYC information:

  • In step one, send a text message to the number 7738299899.
  • ‘EPFOHO UAN ENG’ is the message’s format.

In the SMS, you must select your chosen communication language. Simply type the first three characters of the desired language. Type the first three characters of the word English, e.g. EPFOHO UAN ENG, to receive updates in English.

Similarly, if you want to receive message updates in Gujarati, write EPFOHO UAN GUJ in the search box.

Via Missed Call

Your EPF amount can be found by making a missed call from your registered mobile number to the allowed phone number. You can utilize this service if your UAN is linked to your KYC information. Your employer may be able to help you if you are unable to do so.

Once your UAN has been linked to your KYC information, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Make a missed call from your registered mobile phone to 011-22901406.

Step 2: If you miss a call, you’ll get an SMS with your PF information.

Umang Application

Make sure your UAN activation is done  by your company before viewing your PF balance. You can also check your PF balance by going to the Google Play Store and installing the EPFO’s “m-Sewa app.” After you’ve downloaded the app, go to ‘Member’ and then ‘Balance/Passbook.’ Then, input your UAN as well as your registered cellphone number. The system will cross-reference your phone number with your UAN. After you’ve double-checked all of the information, you’ll be able to see your updated EPF Balance Check Number. It will raise an error if there is a mismatch.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology just released “Umang,” a new software. Umang is a one-stop shop for a variety of government services, including Aadhaar registration, gas booking, and crop insurance.
